Travelling to...

POWER SHIFT 2009 In Washington, D.C.!!

Five students and two teachers travelled to Washington, DC for a four-day youth leadership summit called Power Shift. This sustainability conference, attended by 12,000 students from around the country, focused on how student leaders can best enact climate change legislation at the national level. The event culminated in the largest climate change lobbying day in American history. The students visited a total of six Congressional offices, lobbying for a sustainable energy policy in America that addresses climate change and revitalizing the economy through the development of "green-collar jobs."
